ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
The computer managed to locate the address (DNS worked), but the server refused the connection on the requested port — nothing is listening there, or something is actively blocking it.
Common causes
- The server or application is down.
- A firewall is blocking the port used (80/443 for the web).
- A wrong address or port was typed.
- A misconfigured VPN or proxy intercepting the connection.
What to do
- Check that the address and port (if any) are correct.
- Temporarily disable VPN or proxy to test.
- Try another network to see if the block is local.

Glossário: os termos desta página
HTTP status code
A 3-digit number the server sends with its response, saying whether it worked (2xx), was redirected (3xx), was a visitor-side error (4xx) or a server-side error (5xx).
DNS
The system that translates an address like "example.com" into the server's IP number. When DNS fails, the browser has nowhere to send the request.
